In the face of this new evidence, Alvaro Machado, lawyer of Vosseler Lawyers representing the victim's family, reaffirms its request that MAP be prosecuted before the Jury Court for a crime of murder by Abdelmajid Benali.
"Furthermore, the aggravating circumstance of using a disguise and premeditation exists, as it was planned in advance," notes Álvaro Machado. The Prosecutor's Office already agreed to Vosseler Abogados' request.

THE FACTS
MAP, 19 years old and in pretrial detention since March 13, 2024, is the alleged perpetrator of the fatal stabbing of Abdelmajid Benali in Campclar, Tarragona, on Sunday, March 3, 2024.
The death of Abdelmajid Benali occurred around noon, on the Ponent Rambla, in the neighborhood of Campclar (Tarragona). As Abdelmajid was leaving the call center on the aforementioned promenade, the alleged perpetrator, MAP, a 19-year-old man, stabbed the victim several times. The attacker then fled on foot toward the N-340 highway. Eight days later, on March 11, 2024, MAP surrendered to the police and was brought before a court.
TELEPHONE RECORDINGS

In another conversation, MAP himself admits his guilt in the Campclar crime: “I’m getting 15 years, from 10 to 15 years… If the fingerprint appears, then I’ll eat it.” And referring to a fellow prisoner with him, he comments: “They found the knife on him just like mine (…) a kitchen knife that was obviously broken just like mine (…) when they showed the murder weapon to the mother, she said: she’d never seen anything like that in her life; "What was I going to say, yes, it's the knife from my house?"
